Why I Started This

What if one year could change your entire life?
That’s the question I asked myself when I realized I was waiting—waiting to feel ready, waiting for clarity, waiting for life to magically feel exciting again.

I created Try That New Thing because I wanted to wake up curious again. To feel engaged with my own life. To stop consuming and start doing.

This isn’t about chasing extremes. It’s about starting from where you are—even if that’s a little tired, a little unsure, or a little too comfy. Because not all growth has to be a leap.

Once I started moving, even just a little, I realized how much easier it became to keep going. Momentum builds up, one small action at a time.

The Moment Everything Shifted

One day, I realized: this is it.
This is my one life. And I could either keep coasting through it… or I could start intentionally living it.

I’d been trading curiosity for control. Energy for productivity. Aliveness for routine.

So I made a decision: 52 new things. 52 weeks. One year to play, explore, and expand.

What This Journey Means

  • It’s not about pushing through fear every week—though that happens sometimes.
  • It’s about saying yes to things that spark something in me, even if they seem small.
  • It’s about choosing variety over autopilot. Expansion over expectation.
  • It’s about building confidence by collecting experiences—not outcomes.

Some Things I’ve Learned So Far

  • You don’t need to be fearless. You just need to be willing.
  • Growth can start in comfort—and gently stretch outward.
  • Not everything needs to lead to success. Fun is a good enough reason.
  • You can’t fail at showing up for yourself.

I want to help people reconnect with their own curiosity.
To remind you that trying new things doesn’t have to be a big, brave act. It can be a playful one. A soft one. A deeply personal one.
